In the summer of 2024, I joined my boyfriend, soon to be husband in Japan. We got an apartment for 2 months in the heart of Osaka, Japan in its Tenoji area. Coming from the USA speaking only an “emergency-level” Japanese (lower than the average 3 year old), it is safe to say I was in the deep end. By the time I arrived on foreign soil, he was already there for 4 months. This allowed me to bypass the normal, stressful learning curve, and truly appreciate the beauty that surrounded me.
